Grim Reapers Work.

Takes William Murdock An Old Resident of the City.

William Murdock an old citizen of the city aged 85 years passed away Thursday
morning at 10 o’clock.  He had been in very poor health for more than a year and
his death was not unexpected.  His wife and son H.B. Murdock with whom he lived
have carefully attended him during his days of suffering.  The deceased was born
in Yates count, N.Y., and came to Michigan nearly 50 years ago first settling in
Hillsdale county and thence to Kent County 18 years ago.  He has been living
here 9 years.

Besides his faithful wife he leaves one son and a daughter Mary Bell of
Hillsdale.  Brief services were conducted at the home Saturday by Rev. J.E.
Butler and his remains were taken to Hillsdale for burial.
