Excerpts from Ithaca Obituary

DORIS MARIE MURGITTROYD

Died Thursday, April 2, 2026-age 93 of Ithaca.
Born in Orleans, March 28, 1933, daughter of Don A. & Nora Myrtle (Baugham) 
Glazier.
Graduated from Ionia High School in class of 1951, with her impressive knowledge 
of Latin, classmates voted her "most likely to become a translator for the 
the United Nations.
Married to Jack Burton Murgittroyd  Sr. on September 4, 1954 in Angola,Indiana., 
together they shared 62 years of marriage.
They owned and operated Jack's Building and Remodeling, where she served as the 
office manager.
They wintered in Texas, enjoying fellowships with friends boating, fishing and 
other activities.
When returning home they would host a big fish fry for friends & family.
She loved the outdoors and had a vibrant garden of pansies & vegetables, she was 
known to make the best freezer jam which the kids named "Mother Smucker's"
She enjoyed golf cart rides, snowmobiling, summer walks & reading.
Survived by her children, Terry (Ronald) Colville, Jack(Eva) Murgittroyd Jr., 
Lori(Todd)Crawford; daughter-in-law, RoseMary Murgittroyd.
Grandchildren, Lesa (John) Neuwirth, Julie Pawalaczk, Jon Murgittroyd, Nicholas 
Strickland, Brittany (Jacob) Galloway, Irene (Keven) Rivera, Maggie (Lance 
Creamer) Murgittroyd, Burt Murgittroyd, Rob Murgittroyd, Amanda Macias, Amber  
Huber, Andrea Crawford, and Thomas Crawford; many great and great-great-
grandchildren.
Also survived by her brothers, Arthur Moulter, & Floyd (Sheila)Moulter; and her 
sister, Darlene Ketchum.
Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jack; daughters, Vickie 
Murgittroyd & Debra Strickland, sons, Michael & Jim Murgittroyd; grandson, 
Michael James Murgittroyd; her sister, Sharon Peterson; her brothers, Roy and 
Louis Magee & one brother-in-law, Ron Ketchum.
