Clare Murphy, whose boyhood days were spent in the vicinity of Sebewa corners, 
died Sunday evening at Bay City, where he had resided many years.  He was 
about 70 years old.  Mr. Murphy taught school for years, for some time in this 
area, later at Bay City.  He retired some years ago.  After death of Clare’s 
father his mother later married Harry Puffer.  The son still owned a farm in 
Sebewa, just west of the campgrounds.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at Bay City, and burial was 
there.  James Bedell, of Sebewa, attended.  Mrs. Bedell is a relative of 
deceased.  The widow, two daughters and three granddaughters survive.
