The Portland Observer, Thursday, December 19, 1940

Patrick A. Murphy, 76, a retired member of the Muskegon police force and a 
former police judge, died recently at a Muskegon hospital.  He had been in ill 
health for some time.

His wife, who was formerly Mattie Ward of Portland, a sister of the late 
Charles Ward, survives and there is one daughter, Mrs. Leo D. Cudahy, of 
Muskegon.  

Mr. and Mrs. Murphy were at one time residents of Portland.
