JAMES MURPHY DIED MONDAY

James Elba Murphy, of Woodland, age 85, died at Pennock Hospital December 8, 
1958. He was born in Sebewa Twp., March 10, 1873, son of James and Barbara (Guy) 
Murphy. His wife, Mary (Willcutt) Murphy died in 1950. He is survived by four 
sons; Carl of Grand Rapids, Clair of Battle Creek, Lawrence of Holbrook, Ariz., 
and Verlen of Palacious, Texas; and five daughters, Daisy Johnson, Battle Creek, 
Barbara Sleter, Dallas, Texas, Norma Murphy, San Francisco, Calif., Beatrice 
Poston, Gakona, Alaska, Laura Jewell, Newark, Delaware; and one sister, Mrs. 
Frank Bair, Lake Odessa, one brother, Guy Murphy, Sunfield.

Funeral service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m., December 11 at Mapes Funeral 
Home. Burial in Sunfield cemetery.
