Shirley Josephine Murphy 90 passed away Nov. 11 2015 at Northridge Nursing Facility
in Commerce GA.  She was born in Unionville Michigan Feb. 1 1925 she was the eldest
daughter of Josephine and S. Colon Todd.

Married to Leslie M. Murphy for over 54 years she was a 1942 graduate of Ionia High
School mother of four employed as secretary to the prosecuting attorney and served
as Registrar of Deeds of Ionia.  She liked to read play golf play bridge travel and
loved her sweets.  Upon her retirement in 1990 they moved to Fruitland FL and then
in 2006 to Bentley Assisted Living Jefferson GA.

She is survived by her children Pamela (Craig) Buys St. Augustine FL Daniel Murphy
Satsuma FL Janet (Alfred) Hayes Fruitland FL and Susan (Richard) Pattillo Jefferson
GA; as well as siblings E. Jean Piscelli Ionia MI Kathleen Jones Ionia MI Phyllis
(Donald) Nystrom Memphis TN Joanne (Robert) Hull College Place WA. and Stephen
(Charlotte) Todd Vassar MI; sisters-in-law Lieselotte Todd Huntsville AL and
Charlotte Todd Lake Odessa MI; brothers-in-law R. Stewart Weisgerber Ionia MI and
Lloyd Northard Rice Lake WI; seven grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 32
nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Leslie M. Murphy; sisters
Marjorie Todd Weisgerber and Marilyn Todd Northard; and brothers Kenneth Todd and
Phillip Todd.

Cremation has taken place.  A memorial service will be held in Michigan at a later
date.  Her remains will be buried at Balcom Cemetery Ionia MI next to her husband
Leslie M. Murphy.
