Greenville Independent, 13 Feb 1895

Elon Murray died at South Boardman Jan 28, aged 74.  In September, 1849, with
his family he moved to Greenville, afterwards moving to what was then
Patterson’s Mills, now Belding, where he and his oldest son worked in the saw
mill which stood nearly where the Richardson silk mill stands today.  About 1858
he moved to Kiddville where he spent many years in the lumber business.  He
moved back to Belding when that place started to boom and was engaged there in
the grocery business until 1883, when he moved to South Boardman, Kalkaska
county, where he died.
