Arvilla Murty Passed Away
Mrs. Arvilla Murty 80, a retired registered nurse, passed away at the 
osteopathic Hospital in Grand Rapids Saturday morning. She had been hospitalized 
there five days and prior to that for four days at the Belding Community 
Hospital. Mrs Murty  had been a patient at the Christian Rest Home about five 
months.

She was born in Odessa township Dec. 25, 1888, the daughter of John and Rachel 
(Lepard) Bower, and was a graduated of Lake Odessa High School and Nurses 
Training in Kalamazoo. She married Ernest Murty in 1914 and they resided at 
Ypsilanti at the time of his death in 1942. Following her husband's deaths she 
made  her home in Lake Odessa and was employed at the Michigan Veteran's 
facility in Grand Rapids until retiring in 1954.

Mrs Murty was a member of the Lake  Odessa Christian Reformed Church.

Surviving are son, John of Kalamazoo; one grandchild and one great-grandchild; a 
sister, Mrs.Emma Griebel of Lake Odessa and now a resident at the Christian Rest 
Home at Belding, and a brother, Tello Bower of Big Rapids.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 at Pickens Funeral Chapel. Rev. 
William D. Ribbens will officiate, with burial in Lakeside Cemetery.
