Laney L. Mustaine aged 71 of Ionia passed away January 27, 2004 in Ionia. She 
was born July 31, 1932 in Lansing the daughter of James and Geraldine (Pease) 
Mustaine. She was employed by the Ionia County Sheriff dept until retiring in 
December of 1993.

Laney was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in Germany. She was a life 
member of the VFW and Auxiliary for Post 4406. She was a member of the 
American Legion in Belding. Member of the Women of the Moose. Past member of 
the Ionia Sheriff Posse. Past member of the Ionia County Veterans Trust Fund.

She is survived by her special friend Norine Zeller of Ionia. Brothers James 
Mustaine of Florida,Bruce and Elsie Mustaine of California, Phillip and 
Phyllis Mustaine of Mason, Maurice Mustaine of Orleans. Many Nieces, Nephews, 
Great Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Kendall Harger 
officiating. Interment Orleans Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday 2-4 and 
7-8:30 at the Lake Funeral Home in Ionia. Anyone wishing may make memorial 
contributions to VFW Camp Trotter Children’s Camp or Freedom Acres.
