Dec. 8, 2017 VELMA (FROST), 89 Velma Vivian Mutch passed away on Dec. 5, 2017. Born Oct. 1, 1928, daughter of Frank and Jesse (Stiles) Frost in Ionia. She attended Ionia Schools, farmed with her husband James in Odessa Twp. from 1948 to 1997. Preceded in death by husband, James; son Jimmy; parents; brothers, Jack Frost and Jessie Frost; sisters-in-law, Alta Mae frost and Melva Jane Baxter; brothers-in-law, Don Schelter and Jack Baxter; great-great-grandson Aberin Teachworth. Survived by son, Jack (Mary) Mutch; daughter, Jane (John) Cook; siblings, Frank (Bud) Frost Jr., JoAnn Schelter; sister-in-law Bonnie Frost; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Velma loved the Lord and her family with all her heart. She always found the good in all. She enjoyed researching the genealogy of their families. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alta Mae Frost VFW Scholarship Fund. Private family services were held for Velma and she is resting next to her husband James at Lakeside cemetery. A lunch to celebrate her life will be held at VFW post 4461 in lake Odessa starting at 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 8.
