Funeral Wednesday at Lake Odessa. The body of Mrs. Nancy Mutschler, 77, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. O. J. Clemens of Kewadin, was brought to Lake Odessa Monday morning, then taken to the home of her daughter Mrs. Ron Jackson, north of town. Mrs. Mutschler, who had been in poor health for some time past, died Sunday evening. The funeral was held at the First United Brethren church with the Rev. R. E. Uhrig, the pastor, officiating. Mrs. Lulu Mourer and Homer Bartlett sang two numbers and burial was at Lakeside. Surviving are the daughters Mrs. Dora Clemens of near Elk Rapids, Mrs. Lottie Jackson of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Cora Jackson of Lake Odessa, Mrs. Inez Estep of Traverse City, and a son Marion living near Clarksville. There are seven grandchildren. She also leaves three brothers, Charles Shafer of Ionia, Elmer of Woodbury, and David of California. Obituary of Nancy Jane Mutschler Nancy Jane Mutschler passed away February 4 at the age of 77 years and one day. She was a loving mother and a friend to every one she met. She was born in Odessa township, February 3, 1863, daughter of Egara and John Shafer. On March 6, 1880 she was united in marriage to George Mutschler who passed away March 27, 1930. To this union five children were born, four daughters and one son: Mrs. Dora Clemens of Elk Rapids, Mrs. Lottie Jackson of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Cora Jackson of Lake Odessa, Mrs. Inez Estep of Traverse City, and Marion Mutschler of Clarksville. She also leaves to mourn their loss besides the children, 13 grandchildren, three brothers, and a host of friends. She had been a member of the United Brethren church since she was a girl. She had spent her later years with her oldest daughter Dora as she had been in poor health and not being able to stay in her own home.
