Dr. Myers was a native son of Ionia County who rose to national prominence in his profession as a medical practitioner and pioneer in eye surgery. Of his 52 years in the profession, all but four were spent in Ann Arbor. From 1903 to 1907 he practiced in Grand Rapids. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Myers, and was born on the farm in North Plains Township where they lived, near the Brad Hayes farm. He was a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a former president of the Ann Arbor city council, chairman of the Washtenaw County Democratic committee, and active in community and service clubs. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Eleanor Sheldon Myers, and a daughter, Dorothy Louise Myers. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at the First Presbyterian church in Ann Arbor, with burial there in Forest Hills cemetery.
