Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 16 Apr 1936

Miss Mary Grieves, of Ionia township, received word of the death of Eugene
Myers, an early resident of Easton township who died March 20 at New Era, at the
age of 79.  He was the son of Cornelius and Caroline Myers, early settlers near
Dildine corners.  Although Mr. Myers was blind since childhood he took an active
part in the community and was noted for his gentle nature and generous
qualities.  He often visited Ionia in later year.
