May 8, 2009 Donna Mae Nadeau Sage, age 91, of Greenville, went in peace to be with her heavenly Father, surrounded by her loving family. She has been residing in Orleans with her daughter and son-in-law. Donna was born Dec. 22, 1917 in Remus the daughter of Rosco and Irene Goodsell Snyder. Throughout her life Donna was an avid member of the First Church of God in Greenville. Donna enjoyed volunteering her time cooking for the church; nearly everyone who knew her knew her loved her homemade noodles and baked beans. She was also a devout member of the Bible Study for women. Closest to her heart was her love for the Lord and her family. She enjoyed spending as much time as she could with each of her children, grandchildren, great-and-great-great-grandchildren. There was enough love in her heart for everyone in her family and she went out of her way to make sure everyone in her family knew how much she loved and cared for them. She was a perfect role model teaching each generation the importance of knowing the Lord. Donna also enjoyed spending time with her friends. She could always be counted on for a ride to an early morning coffee. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters-in- law, first husband Homer Nadeau, her second husband, Jerry Sage and great- granddaughter Jillian Nadeau. Donna is survived by her loving children, Helen (Gary) Kern of Greenville, Jim (Cathie) Nadeau of Lakeview, Darlene (Jerry) Sydow of Orleans and Bob (Diane) Nadeau of Coral; stepdaughters, Pat Jones and Bonnie Giles; 14 grandchildren; 40 great and 13 great-great-grandchildren; brother Max Snyder; sister-in-law Bernice Snyder widow of Keith and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 11 at 11 a.m. from Hurst Funeral Home with Rev. David Perry officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding. Visitation will be on Sunday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given in care of Pastor Dave Perry or to Hospice.
