Thomas Neap, who died Oct. 11th, was an old resident of Orleans, having come to that township in 1844, and took up the old farm where he so long resided. He was born in Wassum, Nottinghamshire, Eng., Jan. 25, 1820, being one year younger than Queen Victoria. On arriving in this country in 1844 he settled in Manchester, Mich., and two years later came to Orleans. He married Marrilla Rose in 1852 and three children were born to them, one of whom, Jerusha, died when seven years old. The others, Mrs. S.J. Smith and Sophronia Hagadorn, are still living. Mrs. Neap died six years ago last January. The deceased was a hard working man and a close calculator who by frugality accumulated a fair competency. As stated last week the burial took place at Orleans cemetery Thursday.
