He was pronounced dead at corner of Jackson and Adams streets by Richard Hull, coroner. He was born August 10, 1891, in Denmark. He was employed by Standard Lumber company of Ionia 15 years and had worked for Grand Valley Chair company many years. He was a veteran of World War I, and June 6, 1947 was married to Minnie Bennett. Surviving besides his wife, Minnie, are four sons, Russell, Harold, William and Richard Neilsen of Ionia; three daughters, Mrs. Lilliam Brown, Mrs. Mary Bodman and Mrs. Esther Longdike, all of Ionia; three stepsons, James Bennett of Lyons, Fred Bennett of Battle Creek and Otis Bennett of Ionia; six stepdaughters, Mrs. Hazel Hart of Battle Creek, Mrs. Bettie Howard of Lowell, Mrs. Joan Mulchert of Muir, Mrs. Wilma Whorley, Mrs. Donna Matthews and Mrs. Nancy Helmes, all of Ionia; 22 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 37 step grandchildren and 42 step great grandchildren, sister, Mrs. Mary Peterson. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Myers-Roetman funeral home. Rev. Edward Oosterhouse will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
