The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, June 23, 2009

William Eugene Neilson, of Ionia, born Nov. 21,1936, passed away early morning 
on June 22, 2009 from his battle with cancer. He passed in his home, 
surrounded by his family.

William served in the Korean War from 1954-1956, in the U.S. Army. William 
loved fishing, hunting, horseshoe throwing, and bowling.

He is survived by his wife of 52-years Greta (Shattuck); his daughters, Kelly 
(Barry) Courtney, Billie Clemins, Terry (Steve) Salter, Lorrie (James) Fox, 
Misty Neilson (Kelly Brown), Sandy (Jeff) Keefer; grandchildren Melissa 
Clemins (Makenzie), Casey Clark (Kadenn, Christian), Tomi Sayers (Keira), 
Ashley Fox, Thomas and Adam Courtney, Ashley Cook (Hailey Clark, Bryce); 
mother-in-law Grace Shattuck Gallop and stepsister Nancy.  Preceded in death 
by his father, mother, brothers, sisters, and grandson Joseph Clark.

There will be a memorial luncheon held at The Ionia Moose, Thursday at 1 p.m. 
Arrangements by Lake Funeral Home of Ionia.
