Oct. 10, 1957 Hans Neilson, 75, of 1212 Yeomans Street, Ionia, died at his home Saturday, October 5 at 8:00 a.m., after being ill since March 13 of this year. Born in Denmark, April 18, 1882, he was a son of Hans and Marie Neilson and came to Ionia in 1906 from Denmark. He had lived in and around Ionia since that time. He was married to Ida Rowley on December 29, 1909 and was a member of I.O.O.F. No. 175. He was a foundry worker in Ionia and Belding and retired 10 years ago. Surviving are his wife, Ida, one son, Maurice Neilson, of Sheridan; two brothers, Karl and Adolph, of Denmark; and three sisters, Thora and Hulda, of Denmark, and Mrs. George (Christine) Anderson, of Ionia; three grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and five step-grandchildren. Bearers were Ernie Face, Harrie Morgan, Wallace Perrien Sr., George White, Ted Bloomer and Leon McQuillan. Funeral services were held at the Boynton Funeral Home Tuesday, at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. A.R. Kuehn, of Lake Odessa, pastor of Evangelical United Brethren Church, and former pastor of Zion E.U.B. Church in Ionia, officiated. Interment was in the family lot in Easton Cemetery.
