Ionia Sentinel, 16 Jul 1974

Mrs. Genevieve Nelson, 71, known as Jean Nelson of Sheridan died early Tuesday 
at the United Memorial hospital in Greenville.

She was a member and past president of the Sheridan VFW auxiliary and had lived 
in the Sheridan area the past 26 years moving there from Ionia.

She was married to Maurice Nelson in 1945 and he survives as do five sons, 
Robert Nelson of Coleman, Jack Caswell of Stanton, Billy Caswell of Sheridan, 
Richard Caswell of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Thomas Sibert of Stoney Point, Canada; 
daughter, Mrs. Helen Bracey of Sheridan; sister, Mrs. Helen Tousgnant of Stoney 
Point; 21 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Bernadette of Lourdes 
Catholic church at Stanton.  interment will be at evergreen cemetery near 
Sheridan.  Family will be at the Stebbins-Simpson funeral home at Sheridan 
Tuesday and Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
