Elaine C. Nelson, 83, of Lyons passed away Thursday, Dec. 14, 2000, in Grand
Rapids.  She was born June 9, 1917, in Lyons the daughter of Harry and Mildred
(Hornbeck) Gardner.  She was a member of the Historical Society of Lyons-Muir
and Evergreen chapter of Eastern Star.  She was a longtime Eastern Star and
worthy Matron.

She is survived by son, Condell (Jo Ellen) Clements of Benton Harbor; stepson,
Robert Nelson of Lansing; grandchildren, Julie Thomas, Laura Ball and Sarah
Acosta; great-grandson, Griffin Ball.

Funeral services for Elaine Nelson will be 2 p.m., Monday, at the Lyons-Muir
Church with Rev. Judy Downing officiating.  Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
and 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Sunday at Hull Memorial Chapel of the Lake Funeral Home
in Muir.  Anyone wishing may make memorial contributions to the Lyons-Muir
Church.  Envelopes available at the funeral home.
