Nelson, 76, of 1191 Yeomans St., Ionia, died Tuesday at the Sheridan Community Hospital. She was born July 1, 1903 in Remus, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Sniff. On November 13, 1922, she was married to William M. Nelson. Mrs. Nelson had been a resident of the Ionia area for 51 years. She formerly was employed by A.C. Sparkplug and at the Bomber plant in Ypsilanti. She attended the First Christian Church. Survivors include her husband, William, three sons, Max of Westland, Ralph of Ionia, and Lavern of Wayne; two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Virginia) Trierweiler and Mrs. Charles (Janice) Stiles, both of Ionia; two brothers, Alex Sniff, of Grant, and Arthur Sniff, of Remus; 10 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Myers Roetman Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronald Dow, of the First Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in the Decker Cemetery near Remus. The family will be at the funeral home to receive friends and relatives today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Transcriber’s Note: The researcher’s notes indicate burial in Decker cemetery near Remus, Michigan with the remains being moved on March 14, 1980 to the Easton Cemetery in Ionia County.
