The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Saturday, October 12, 1985

William M. Nelson, 86, of 1191 Yeomans, Ionia, died Oct. 11 at his residence.  
Born March 2, 1899 in Millbrook, Mich., he was the son of George and Mary 
Anderson Nelson.  He married Opal Sniff Nov. 13, 1922; they have lived in 
Ionia most of their married life, where he was employed by Ypsilanti-Reed 
Furniture Co., and successor companies.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Virginia) Trierweiler and Mrs. 
Charles (Janice) Stiles of Ionia; three sons, Max Nelson of Westland, LaVern 
Nelson of Wayne, and Ralph H. Nelson of Ionia; 10 grandchildren; seven great 
grandchildren; one brother, Frank, of Ionia; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. from the Myers-Roetman Funeral Home, 
with the Rev. F. Michael Valentine of Ionia First Christian Church 
officiating.  Burial will be in the Easton Cemetery.  The family will be at 
the funeral home Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 
to 9 p.m.
