Ionia Sentinel Standard, 2004

Glenn K. Nemetz, aged 82, of Ionia, passed away October 8, 2004 at his home.  
He was born September 19, 1922 in Bushnell Township the son of John Joseph and 
Caroline (Heinrich) Nemetz.  He married Betty Wieczorek January 22, 1948 in 
Ionia.  He was the past owner of the Nickleplate General Store in Ionia for 15 
years.  He also farmed for all his life.

Glenn is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Betty Nemetz of Ionia; son 
Rick and Sally Nemetz of Ionia; daughter Connie and Gene Schilling of Wellston; 
brother Emerson and Dora Nemetz of Lansing; sisters Joyce Houserman of Ionia, 
Zava Smejkal of Fenwick, Marie and Elmer Miller of Ionia; grandchildren Summer, 
Sean, Brent, Brittany, Nick, Brady, Aaron and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial mass will be held 11 a.m. Monday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic 
Church with Father Melvin Fox celebrant.  The family will receive friends and 
relatives Sunday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia.  Rosary 
will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.    You may make memorial 
contributions to the American Cancer Society.
