                      Betty Marie Nemetz

Betty Marie Nemetz, 80, of Wellston, died Thursday afternoon, May 13, 2010, at 
West Shore Medical Center in Manistee.

Betty was born on Aug. 30, 1929, in Ionia, the daughter of the late Wilfred and 
Opal (Baxter) Wieczorek. She was a graduate of Saint Peter & Paul Academy in 
Ionia, Class of 1947. She married Glenn Kenneth on Jan.22,1948 at Saint Peter & 
Paul Catholic Church in ionia.He preceded her in death on Oct.8, 2004.

They were farmers until 1977 when they bought the Nickle Plate General Store in 
Ionia, which they owned until their retirement in 1991.

Betty is survived by one daughter, Connie (Gene) Schilling of Wellstone; a 
daughter-in-law, Sally (Rick) Nemetz of Ionia; seven grandchildren; 12 great-
children; two brothers; Doug Wieczorek of Ionia and Tom Wieczorek of 
Washington,D.C.; and two sisters Patricia Roundtree of Ionia and Judy (Dick) 
Strickling of Sheridan.She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her son, Rick; two brothers, Wilfred and Alan; 
and one sister, Marilyn Ernst.

A private memorial ceremony will be held.

Cremation took place at Oak Grove Cemetery in Manistee.

Memorials in Betty's name may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.

The family has entrusted the Oak Grove Funeral Home & Cremation Center with 
arrangement.
