Ionia Sentinel - Thursday - Dec. 22, 1892

Carl Newman, an old resident, father of Gus Newman, Mrs. Thomas Kistner and 
Mrs. J. Wooster, died of blood poisoning Friday at the age of 74 years. The 
funeral will take place from the German Lutheran church, Monday. Interment at 
Highland Park.
