Ionia Sentinel

Carl Neumann died Friday night, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. L. Kistner, 
West Washington Street.   Deceased was born in Prussia, Dec. 6, 1818, and came 
direct to Ionia in 1879.  He leaves a wife and six children, two sons and four 
daughters; Gus. Neumann, Mrs. Jacob Wurster, Mrs. Thos. Kistner, Mrs. 
Florentine Miske, all of this city, Carl Neumann, of Dubuque, Iowa, and Mrs. 
M. Hine, Isabella county.

Mr. Neumann has been a great sufferer during an illness of three or four 
years, having been confined to the bed for over a year.  His disease is given 
as blood poisoning.  One physician, who examined the case, describes it as a 
dry gangrene, probably resulting from frozen feet.  His toe withered away and 
his feet finally became distorted and useless.
