The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, March 5, 1985

Cecile E. Neumann, 87, of Ionia died Monday morning in Ionia County Memorial 
Hospital.  Born in Easton Township April 10, 1897, she was the daughter of 
Frank and Mary Watkins Church.  She graduated from Ionia High School and 
attended Ferris State College where she studied business. 

She was married to Edwin Neumann in 1919.  They made their home in Crystal 
until moving to Ionia in 1938.  He died in 1974.

In Ionia she was employed by attorney Montgomery Webster and later as a clerk 
at Ionia County Department of Social Services.  She was a member of Ionia Free 
Methodist Church, the American Legion Auxiliary and was a former member of the 
Crystal Order of the Eastern Star.

Surviving are two sons, Donald of Stanton and Douglas of Walled Lake; four 
grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. from the Leddick Funeral Home 
with the Rev. Harold Potter of Ionia Free Methodist Church officiating.  
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.  A memorial has been established 
for the Michigan Heart Association, in care of the funeral home.  The family 
will be at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
