Sentinel-Standard, Ionia, Monday, March 17, 1975
Funeral services for John A. Neustifter, 63, were Monday at 3:30 pm at the 
Leddick funeral home, Rev. Roger Gifford of the First Christian Church 
officiated and the committal service was conducted at the funeral home.  
Interment later was at the Easton Cemetery.

Mr. Neustifter, who lived at 1064 East Main, died at his home late Saturday 
morning following an extended illness.

Born in Munich, Germany, June 15, 1911, he was the son of John and Johanna 
Fluer Neustifter and came to the United States with his parents when he was 
two.  He lived in Ionia and attended the Ionia schools.

He was employed by the A and P grocery chain 25 years as manager before 
leaving the company.  He then worked for the Michigan Training unit 
transferring to Michigan Reformatory at Ionia where he was employed as store 
manager until retirement in 1970. He was employed part-time at Strand's shoe 
store until July 1974.

He was a member of First Christian church and had served as an elder and 
deacon.  He also was a member of the F & AM Masonic Lodge of Leslie and the 
Knights Templar of Grand Rapids.

His brother Arthur preceded him in death.
