Nevins, 79, of 208 Webber St., died Saturday night at Ionia County Memorial Hospital. She was born in Orleans March 4, 1901, the daughter of Bert and Mae DeGroat Mooney. Mrs. Nevins attended schools in Orleans and Ionia. She married Wilbur Nevins in 1923 in Ionia. They made their home in Ionia for most of their married lives. Mr. Nevins died in August of 1961. Mrs. Nevins was a member of the Beatrice Rebecca Lodge 100 and was a past noble grand of the lodge. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. John (Bessie) Currier of Grand Haven, Mrs. Archie (Margaret) Calkins of Lyons and Mrs. William (Beatrice) Graham of Charlotte; one brother, Bertie Mooney of Wyandotte; 14 grandchildren, 35 great- grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Leddick funeral home with the Rev. Bryan Shook of the Ionia Free Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Balcom Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A memorial fund has been established for the Rebecca Lodge.
