Ionia Daily Sentinel, 25 Nov 1916

Alfred E. Newberry was born June 11, 1851 at Ray Center, Macomb county, Mich., 
and passed away Tuesday, Nov. 21 at Traverse City.  News of his death was 
received as a shock to his many friends and relatives although he had been a 
great sufferer for a number of years.  He leaves to mourn his loss a loving wife, 
a son and daughter, Clyde Newberry and Mrs. Iraletta Cutler of Detroit, and a 
sister, Mrs. A.R. Sage of this city.  He was a kind and loving husband, father 
and brother and will be greatly missed by all.  Funeral was held from Winchell’s 
undertaking parlors Saturday.  Interment in Highland park cemetery.
