She was born Sept. 13, 1922 in Carson City, the daughter of Eston and Bessie (Cooper) Bussell. She married Norman O. Newcomb Dec. 31, 1940 at the Ionia Free Fair during a motorcycle race. Rosa was an avid softball player and enjoyed dancing, roller skating and Bingo. She liked to hunt and fish with her family. She was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary and the American Motorcycle Association (AMA). She is survived by two sons, Paul (Rose) Newcomb and William (Anne) Newcomb and two daughters Sharon (Ron) McWeeney and Connie (Bill) Almy. She was blessed with 22 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; brothers Gerald Bussell and Tom (Nettie) Bussell and sisters Elsie Bussell and Pansy (Carl) Lugibihl. Rosa was preceded in death by her husband Norman O. Newcomb; son Norman A. Newcomb; mother and father, Eston and Bessie Bussell; brothers Melvin Bussell and William Bussell Sr. and one great-granddaughter Katherine Bakke. Funeral services will be held Saturday 11 a.m. at Lake Funeral home in Saranac. The family will receive friends and relatives Friday 2-4 and 7-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
