Mrs. Irene Newington, whose illness and commitment to Traverse City was noted 
in these columns last week, died within two days after entering the hospital 
and on July 6, the disease was victor and the fight was over.  The remains 
were sent to this city and the funeral was held from St. Joseph Catholic 
church, Saturday morning at 9 o’clock, with burial in the family lot in St. 
Joseph cemetery.  Mrs. Newington was a life long resident of this city, having 
been born here 33 years ago.  Her many friends will be pained to learn of her 
untimely death.  Surviving are her mother, Mrs. M. Chrystler and three 
brothers, Frank, William and Alvin, all of this city.
