                HUBBARDSTON - Old Matherton Resident Dead- 
              Commencement a Success - Other North Plains News.

Hubbardston, June 13. -  Died, at her home in Matherton, June 10, Mrs. Ada 
Newland, aged 81 years, 8 months, 7 days, Ada Honeywell was born Oct. 3, 1818, 
in Summerhill, Cayuga county, New York, married to Volney Bassett Newland 1841. 
Living for a time in Pennsylvania, moving to Matherton in 1856. Five children 
blessed their union, one Mrs. Aleck Delong, died in this village in 1864, Mrs. 
Milan Mabie, of Hart, Mrs. W.P. Wood, Mrs. M.T. Tyler and Miss Vina Newland of 
Matherton, survive her. Mr. Newland died at Hart, Mich., in 1880. Deceased was 
a firm believer in spiritualism, and as the end drew near she seemed  more than 
ready to join the dear ones gone before. Funeral from her late residence June 
12, at 2 p.m., Rev. Davis officiating. Interment in East side cemetery of this 
village.
