Ionia Sentinel
Sarah May Newman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Newman, died Monday afternoon 
as the result of eating wild parsnip, which she and the other children of the 
family found while wandering on the bank of the river.  All the children were 
very sick, one of the boys particularly suffering but Tuesday he was reported 
out of danger, and the others are well enough to be up and playing as usual.  
Sarah was aged 13 years.  The funeral services were held at the Baptist church 
at two o’clock Thursday afternoon, Rev. Branch officiating.
