Lori Lynn Newman, 43, of Portland, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012. She 
was born on June 22, 1968 in Lansing, the daughter of Hilary and Sandra 
(Chartrand) Platte.

Lori was a member of Mt. Hope Church in Portland and she loved her church 
family. She also enjoyed scrapbooking and reading. Her family was very 
important to her, especially her children.

She was preceded in death by her twin sister, LeeAnn; grandma, Catherine 
Chartrand; mother-in-law, Ardith Newman; and grandparents, Anthony and Erma 
Platte. 

Surviving are her children, Kassandra and Karl Newman; parents, Hilary and 
Sandra Platte; siblings, Ray Platte and Robert (Michelle) Platte; grandpa, 
Raymond Chartrand; many aunts, uncles and cousins.

The Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 16, 2012 at Lehman 
Funeral Homes, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland, with the Rev. Joe Robbe, pastor of 
Mt. Hope Church in Portland, presiding. Interment will follow at Portland 
Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. 
Sunday at the funeral home.

established at the Portland Federal Credit Union, in memory of Lori. Online
