Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 30 Mar 1925

The funeral service for Lyman Newman was largely attended at 1:30 Sunday
afternoon from the residence on the State road and from the Baptist church at 2
o’clock.  The service was conducted by Rev. Alfred Trenerry, pastor of the First
Baptist church.  The music was furnished by Mrs. John Hodgkins and Mrs. Ray
Colwell with Mrs. Leonard Swanson at the organ.  The bearers were former fellow
workmen of Mr. Newman and were Hugh Tate, Homer Mann, Calvin Costh, Harry Lee,
Walter Gish, and H.E. Hillard.  Burial took place in the family lot at the
Tuttle cemetery.
