Nichol, 89, for 60 years a resident of Ionia, died Wednesday morning at 10:30 o'clock in the Arnold Home, Inc., Detroit, following an illness of more than three years. Born in 1855 in Marshall, she was married in Philadelphia, Pa., in 1872 to John Nichol, and in 1873 they located on a farm in Danby township Ionia attorney. Mr. Nichol died August 29, 1928, Mrs. Nichol attended St. John's Episcopal church, and was a member of the Knights and Ladies of Security. Surviving is a son, Alfred A. Nichol, of Ionia; a daughter, Miss Janette Nichol, of Detroit; two grandchildren, Mrs. Robert J. Barnard of Detroit and Sgt. John Irwin Nichol, of Fort Sheridan, Ill; a brother, Benjamin Garfield, of Danby. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Myers funeral home. Rev. H.A. Hanson, rector of St. John's Episcopal church, will officiate, and the body will be placed in the mausoleum in Highland Park cemetery.
