Nichols, former lawyer and Ionia county prosecutor who had spent the greater part of his life in this city, were held from the Myers funeral home Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock, a little less than two months since the death of his wife, Harriet K. Nichols, Mrs. Nicholas having died December 19. Rev. Adam J. Westmaas of the First Presbyterian church officiated at the services and interment was in the Highland Park cemetery beside his wife. Bearers were Harry Gemuend, Frank Gazella, Burton B. Sibley, Dale K. Jepson, Fred D. Keister and Ray A. Colwell. Floral arrangements were in charge of Red T. Mason. The Bar Association of Montcalm and Ionia counties attended the services in a body. Those attending from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Henry J. Kennedy, Mrs. Kathleen E. Nichols, Mr. and Mrs. William Dewey and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Brooks, all of Detroit, Mr. and Mrs. Wilson K. Hutchins, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur R. Hurst, Mr. and Mrs. William K. Wilson, and Seymour Wilson, all of Grand Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Hugh E. Wilson of Ann Arbor, A. Newton, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wall, Mrs. Huxtable and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Parsons, all of Grand Ledge. Among the many floral offerings received were those from the Elks lodge, the Bar association of Montcalm and Ionia counties, the Great Lakes Casualty company of Detroit and the State Savings bank of Ionia.
