The Ionia Daily Sentinel, Saturday, September 1, 1917

Hugh Nichols, a farmer of Orleans township, died Friday in a hospital at Grand 
Rapids, where he had undergone an operation.  The funeral will be held Sunday 
afternoon at 2 o’clock, the Oddfellows to have charge.  As many as possible 
are requested to be at the hall at 1 o’clock.  Cars will be provided.
