Belding Banner, 23 Mar 1899

It is with regret we announce the death this week of one of our best young men,
Ross Nichols, only son of Mr. and Mrs. S. Nichols, who departed this life at his
home March 15, 1899, after an illness of several months, of abscess of the
liver.  He was born December 10, 1879, and was of a quiet disposition, making
many friends.  His departure has caused a vacancy which time can never fill. 
The funeral was held Saturday from the M.E. church in Belding, Rev. A.O. Carmen
preaching from the 119th, 50th verse.  He leaves a father, mother, one sister
and a large circle of friends who mourn for one who is not dead but sleepeth.
