NANCY ANN NICHOLS, 85
Nancy Ann Nichols, 85, formally of Ionia, passed away peacefully Saturday 
morning. Nov. 18, 2017, at Green Acres assisted Living in Greenville, under 
the care of Hospice of Michigan.

Nancy was born June 27, 1932, in Care, Ohio, to mother Lucille Mae Luck and 
father Claron Lawton Sausser.

Raised in Sandusky, Ohio, Nancy attended The Ohio State University. She 
married James Kennedy Nichols, in 1953.

Nancy is survived by Kim Kennedy (Leslie) Nichols, David Everitt (Julia) 
Nichols and Eric Zellsworth (Tracy) Nichols; along with grandchildren, Chad, 
Brian, Kevin, Erika, Kathleen, Mackenzy, Erin, Caroline; and 5 great-
children. Nancy is also survived by one sister, Frances (Walter) Johnson of 
Huron, Ohio; along with many nephews and nieces.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, James; and siblings, Joseph 
and Laura.

Nancy was a member and served as a Deacon of the First Presbyterian Church of 
Ionia.

Nancy enjoyed volunteer work at the First Presbyterian Soup Supper, Meals on 
Wheels of Ionia and served on the Ionia Free Fair Ladies Day Committee for 18 
years.

A Memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church on Saturday, 
Nov. 25, with a family and friends visiting hour from 2-3 p.m. followed by a 
service at 3 p.m.

Those wishing to make a donation on behalf of Nancy can be made to the First 
Presbyterian Church of Ionia, the Ionia County Memorial Hospital or Hospice 
of Michigan.
