Ionia Sentinel Standard, 25 Jan 1990

Gerald P. Nichols, 61, died Jan. 23 at Ionia County Memorial Hospital.  He was 
born on March 23, 1928 in Belding to Herbert P. and Coleta A. (Mahar) Nichols.  
He was an electrician and was employed at GenCorp in Ionia.  He was a member of 
the Belding Lodge #355 F&AM and Belding American Legion Hugo-Fails Post #203.

Surviving are his wife, Viola M., of Belding; one daughter, Mrs. David (Jerry 
Lynn) Meyer of Vicksburg; three sons, Mike of Grand Rapids, Bryan of Portage 
and Tim of Los Angeles, Calf.; 15 grandchildren; one great grandchild; two step-
sons, Steve Antcliff of Rockford and David Antcliff of Belding; his mother, 
Coleta Burch of Rockford; one sister, Sherry Bird of Rockford; one brother, 
Cecil Burch of LeRoy.

Services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Hoffman Funeral Home with the Rev. 
Kenneth Harger officiating.  Burial is at River Ridge Cemetery.  Family members 
will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.  
Memorials can be made to the Michigan Heart Association.
