Lake Odessa Wave - Thursday, Aug. 21, 1902

Mrs. J. S. Nichols, died at her home north of town last Sunday afternoon of 
typhoid fever, after an illness of about two weeks. Mrs. Nichols was well known 
and loved in her home community and her death was a great shock to all, 
although it had been looked for, as she had been poorly for a couple of days 
preceding the end. The funeral was held on Monday forenoon from the Baptist 
church. Rev. Herring preaching. The remains were laid to rest in Lakeside 
cemetery.
