Ionia Sentinel Standard, 23 May 1944

Hiram A. Nicholson, 83, died early Tuesday morning at his home, 128 Cleveland
street, following a week’s illness.  He and his wife had just returned to Ionia from
Lansing where they spent the winter with their son, Charles D. Nicholson.

Mr. Nicholson was born in Orange township in 1860 and is survived by his widow, Ella
J. Nicholson; two sons, Hiram A. Nicholson, jr., of Bay City and Charles D.
Nicholson of Lansing; two grandsons, Stuart Nicholson, with the armed forces
overseas and Hiram A. Nicholson, III, of Bay City; one brother, Glenn Nicholson of
Sebewa; a sister, Mrs. Carrie Benedict of Port Huron.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Myers funeral
home.  Burial will be in the mausoleum in Highland Park cemetery.
