Ionia Daily Sentinel, 27 Jul 1918

Mrs. Sarah Nicholson of Portland, committed suicide by taking carbolic acid and 
covering her face with a towel saturated with chloroform.  Her body was found in 
the morning by the people at whose home she lived.  Twenty years of ill health is 
given as the cause.
