Obituary- Mrs. Sylvia Webster Nickerson was born November 10, 1869, in Gilead townshi0p, Morrow county, Ohio. She was the youngest daughter of Lyman and Margaret Ann Webster. On November 20, 1894 she was united in marriage to John Nickerson at Ionia, Mich., and has resided at her home in Campbell township ever since. She was baptized and united with the Campbell Brethren church where she has been a faithful member until death. A good woman has gone to her reward and left behind a train of shining deeds. The church, the Sunday school, the whole wide world has been her field for precious seed sowing. Early in life she learned to know her Lord and sought to be a blessing to the race. Her greatest work was helping others, and failed not to improve each passing hour. She leaves her husband John Nickerson, one sister, Mrs. George Rule of Alma, one brother Robert Webster of Grand Rapids, and of Grand Rapids, and adopted daughter Mrs. George Fountaine, Lakeview, and a large number of neighbors and friends. Those from out of town to attend the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. George Fontaine and Mrs. Hugh Griffis of Lakeview, George Rule and daughter Fern of Alma, Mr. and Mrs. John Keubler of Crestline, Ohio, Roy Sheidier, Mrs. Thelma Heestand and little daughter of Alliance, Ohio, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sheider of Farmington, Mich., Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Rule and two children of Detroit, Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Rule and children and Guy Rule of Alma, Dan Sears of Lansing, Robert Webster, Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Gier, Mrs. John Daley of Grand Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Simpkins of Remus and Mr. and Mrs. Jay Hulliberger of Flint.
