Funeral services were held at Charlotte Sunday, December 16, with the Rev. Gaylord F. Smith officiating, and Mrs. Ruth Marple as organist. Interment was in the family lot at Millerburg cemetery, Carmel township. Attending the services from away were Mr. and Mrs. Orr Hart and daughter and Miss Mae Hart of Lansing, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Bignell and Wilber of Palo. Surviving are two nieces, Mrs. Gladys Orwick of Carey, Ohio, and Mrs. Flossie Bignell of Palo, and three nephews, George Nichols of Flint, Lyle and Wilber Nichols of Beulah. Miss Nichols was the daughter of Wellington and Sarah Nichols and was born April 15, 1871, in Carmel township, Eaton county. When a young woman she moved with her parents to Ionia. Her father died April 15, 1899, and her mother on March 3, 1910, and soon thereafter she moved to Detroit where she had since been employed.
