John Lyle Nielsen
IONIA- John Lyle Nielsen age 75, of Ionia passed away July 26, 2021 in Grand 
Rapids, MI. He was born January 14, 1946 in Ionia , MI. the son of Kenneth J and 
fern L.(Hesterley) Nielsen. He served in the Marines in the Vietnam War.

John walked for Christman Construction in Lansing, MI. He enjoyed fishing, 
hunting, playing cards, gardening and reading. He loved his grandkids and 
attending their sporting events.

John is survived by his children, Eric (Carrie) Nielsen of Grand Rapids, Tami 
(Bob) Brownell of Ionia and Jennifer Nielsen of Ionia; grandchildren, Caden 
Brownell, Brennen Brownell, Tyson Brownell, Danika Nielsen and Dakota Nielsen 
and sister, Jean White of Ionia.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ruth Huckaba and brothers-in-
law, Larry White and Rick Huckaba.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Friday, July 30, 2021 at Lake Funeral 
Home in Ionia with Pastor Fred Lab officiating. Interment in Lakeside Cemetery. 
Visitation will be Thursday 2-4pm and 6-8 pm at the funeral home and one hour 
prior to service on Friday. Memorial contributions may be made in John's name to 
Lakewood VFW. Online condolences may be made at www.lakefuneralhomes.com
