Lake Odessa Wave Thursday January 31, 1963

Local Resident Dies Friday Evening

Sam Nielson, 65, route 2, Ionia passed away Friday evening at the Ionia County 
memorial hospital, about two hours after admittance.

A native of Denmark, he had lived at his present farm home for 23 years and he 
and his wife Karen celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary, December 30, 1963.

Surviving besides his wife are two sons Carlton of Ionia and Kenneth of Lake 
Odessa; four daughters, Mrs.Dorothy Bennett and Mrs.Mattie Brooks of Ionia, 
Mrs.Marguerite Baker of Portland and Mrs. Marjorie Chickering of Belding, and 
fourteen grandchildren and brothers in Denmark.

Funeral services were held on Monday at the Myers Funeral Home at Ionia with 
temporary entombment at Balcom cemetery.
