Ionia County News - Thurs. July 27, 1944

Funeral service for August Fred Nimz, 63, was held from Boynton Funeral Home at 
two o'clock Wednesday afternoon, July 26. Burial in Highland Park cemetery. 
Rev. R.A. Rook officiated at the funeral services.

Mr. Nimz, for many years a resident of Ionia, died at 10:30 Sunday morning, 
July 23, at his home in Saginaw, where the family moved about twelve years ago. 
He was born in Germany, July 10, 1881, and came to Iona with his parents when 
he was a small child.

Besides the widow, Edith, he leaves two daughters, Mrs. LaVona Peabody, and 
Mrs. Hazel Harrington, Ionia; a sister, Mrs. C.E. Johnson, Royal Oak, and a 
brother, Gustave Nimz, Ionia.
